“I've chosen Professor Keiko O'Brien as my muse for this project because she's an amazing example of a modern woman, balancing her professional and personal lives while still keeping her cultural traditions alive. She was smart and adaptive, creating a school and teaching the children on DS9 after leaving her position as Head botonist on the Enterprise. She and Miles both passed on their heritages to the children, something close to me, coming from a multi ctural family.”
