“ I’d read (in a later interview) that actress Terry Farrell had initially been asked to portray Jadzia Dax as a cross between ‘Grace Kelly and Yoda’, as the writers didn’t know what to do with this character they’d created. However, Terry’s superb portrayal convinced me very early on that Jadzia Dax’s character was a blend of 8 lifetimes and 350 years’ worth of life experience! From the moment Jadzia Dax was introduced into the Star Trek universe, I was captivated! What I admired about this wonderful character, was that she was always portrayed with a careful balance of intelligence, kindness, strength, compassion, integrity, mischievousness, grace, integrity and vulnerability – a truly authentic and inspiring character on so many levels! And to me, one of the best characters in Star Trek! ”
