“Michael Burnham is one of my favourite characters because of Sonequa Martin-Green's fantastic and powerful performance. It is interesting watching the lead character from a different angle (scientist) than the normal captain post. Within those first few episodes you knew exactly who this character was and what they stood for but also the trauma which left untreated turned to dangerous flaws. Whilst this has been done before with other characters being flawed, this felt more rounded and fleshed out and yet Burnham remains completely likeable.”
