Marcie London | Janice Rand “Star Trek”

”Janice Rand broke the cultural mold of women in television roles. Twelve years before women were permitted to serve aboard US Navy ships, when most female television characters were girlfriends, wives and mothers, Rand was serving as a crew member of a starship exploring the galaxy. While some of her plot lines may feel antiquated to our modern eyes, her character blazed a bold trail. She served with grace and poise and inspired little girls around the world to chase their dreams.”

Marcie’s Bio:

I am an artist and freelance illustrator who enjoys drawing cartoons, botanicals, and portraits. I found a love of art as a young child in a multicultural family using watercolors and coloring pencils. Star Trek has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I find great joy in painting fans into the franchise universe. When I’m not drawing or designing book covers and podcast logos for clients, I’m outside in my garden and enjoying nature.
