Maria Picassó i Piquer | Kathryn Janeway “Star Trek: Voyager”
“Janeway taught me that women in fiction (hence, real life) can go beyond a single label. In times when the norm was that a woman would fill the "romantic interest" or "mother" role, Janeway showed the audience that women have agency and can be multifaceted heroes. She is bold, competent, caring, courageous, loving, reckless, romantic, intelligent, nerdy, determined... I wish I had the chance to grow up watching Voyager but I'm happy to have grown as an adult by watching Captain Janeway on screen.”
