Stevie Lee | Jadzia Dax “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine”

“This painting reflects my interpretation of Jadzia. She stands proud, daring you (the viewer) to challenge her, knowing full well she will win. She’s dirty, scruffy, bloody… her beauty superficially marred but her genuine self shining through. She revels in her beauty even as she proudly displays the scar from her joining with Dax. This says that even those who seem like they have everything together on the outside, there’s always a little pain just below the surface. And that pain makes us who we are.

I love Jadzia Dax and I love Terry Farrell, and this is a tribute to both. Thank you for reminding me of the beauty that sometimes hides just beyond our own eyes.”

Stevie’s Bio:

I’m originally from New Jersey but currently live in Florida. I’m a self-taught artist whose style could be described as “dreamy editorial”. A lot of my inspiration comes from Naoko Takeuchi, CLAMP, Chiho Aoshima, and John Singleton Copley (if there ever were a more varied group of individuals…!), but I also draw (no pun intended) from history and the natural world. I’m currently the property of three cats who love to sleep on my work.
